The Bank’s Base Rate is set by The Bank of East Asia and the rate can go up or down at any time. The Bank of England base rate* is taken into account when deciding the Bank’s Base Rate, however, it is important to note that the Bank’s Base Rate may not change in line with or at the same time as the change to the Bank of England base rate.

*The Bank of England base rate is the official interest rate set by the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee and is reviewed regularly.
